OTHER SOURCES OF IBD RESEARCH FUNDING

AGA Foundation for Digestive Health and Nutrition

AGA Foundation for Digestive Health and Nutrition is the foundation of the American Gastroenterological Association

(AGA).  The Foundation funds research and educational programs aimed at improving digestive health nationwide including IBD research.  For more information and to see a list of upcoming grant deadlines, visit www.fdhn.org.

Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)

The guiding mission of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is to stimulate and encourage innovative research in the basic biomedical and clinical sciences, which is likely to increase our understanding of the etiology, pathogenesis, therapy, and prevention of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease or IBD). In addition, the foundation offers training awards to encourage the early developmental stages of individuals with research potential for a career of independent basic and/or clinical investigation in IBD.

All research proposals are peer-reviewed. Selection criteria include the scientific merit of the proposal, the relevancy of the proposal to IBD, and the excellence of the investigator and the research environment. For more information, visit www.ccfa.org.

Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC)

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) believes that cures will be found for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. To realize this, the CCFC is committed, first and foremost, to raise increasing funds for medical research. To date, the CCFC has spent over $60 million on research-related activities.

The CCFC also believes it is important to make all individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) aware of the Foundation, and educate these individuals, their families, health professionals and the general public about these diseases. For more information, visit www.ccfc.ca.

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) conduct and support biomedical research, disseminating research findings and health information to the public. NIH is part of the U.S. Government, under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Two main institutes at NIH, the National Institute for Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), provide funding for IBD-related research. For more information, visit www.nih.gov.
